Donna’s School Morning Flapjacks

Ingredients (Makes – 2 teenager-sized portions, or 4 smaller bars)

  • 64 g butter
  • 64 g soft brown sugar
  • 128 g porridge oats (Flahavan’s)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Small handful chocolate chips

How to preprare

  1. Heat oven to 180 °C (fan) and line a small baking tin with parchment.
  2. In a bowl, mix the butter and sugar together until combined.
  3. Stir in the oats, then add the honey and chocolate chips.
  4. Press mixture into the tin, flattening with the back of a spoon.
  5. Bake for 12 minutes, until lightly golden at the edges.
  6. Cool slightly before slicing into bars.

Note

A proper school-morning favourite. To lighten them up, swap half the butter for mashed banana or add a spoon of ground flaxseed for extra fibre.
