Fish Pie

Ingredients

  • 400g white fish (cod/haddock), cut into chunks
  • 200g salmon, cut into chunks
  • 150g prawns (optional)
  • 700g potatoes, peeled & chopped
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 200ml low-fat milk
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 100g frozen peas
  • 2 tbsp grated cheddar

How to preprare

  1. Boil potatoes until tender, mash with butter and milk.
  2. In a pan, fry onion and garlic, stir in flour, then slowly add milk to form a sauce.
  3. Add mustard, peas, and fish. Simmer gently until fish just cooks through.
  4. Place in an oven dish, top with mash, sprinkle cheddar.
  5. Bake at 200°C for 20–25 mins until golden.

Note

Use a mix of fish for best flavour. Slim it down by skipping the cheese topping and using Greek yoghurt in mash.
